Educational Strategies for Correct Insulin Injection.

Abstract

The latest diabetes treatment guidelines emphasize the importance of strict glycemic control, and therefore, change in insulin percentage is a key metric. Diabetic patients being treated with insulin require proper education and guidance to control blood sugar to improve quality of life, which is one of the most important factors in assessing treatment outcomes. Proper insulin storage, the appropriate injection tool, correct injection site, and proper injection method are common considerations the diabetes educator must address during training of patients.
